Fantasy drawings are so much fun. They can be anything we want them to be. Look between the flower stems for.....the rest of the story. Need to license artwork? Call S. Belle-Isle to discuss the possibilities.

Fantasy Drawings - Colored Pencil Fantasy Drawings of Flowers

Creating this fantasy drawing was truly a labor of love. Combining my passion for flowers, bright colors, and the intrigue of a story, led me to the idea of developing the storyline between the stems.  Since I love fantasy and visionary art, stories using these subjects are a natural expression.

The art technique that I most employ is a smooth application of the pencil's color with as much high contrast as I can stand. Prismacolor pencils are among my favorite for bright, clear, long lasting color as well as the versatility they offer in art technique.  The vivid colors of Prismacolor make the perfect medium for fantasy drawings.

All my wax pencil expressions are either totally or partially burnished. Burnishing is a technique where, by pressing hard with the wax pencils (often on the last layer of color) I simply mash the wax down into the fibers of the paper's surface, yielding a smooth, painterly look to the artwork.
