Homemade Wedding Favors with Ribbon Choose 1 or 2 ideas below and have friends over for a fun (ribbon) "tie party" & create unique wedding favors.
Cover a simple book with a beautiful fabric using lace, tulle, organza, or anything fancy and romantic. Fold organza ribbon in 2 - 45 degree angle folds forming a point. Place the point over a corner of one of your wedding invitations with your beautiful custom drawing, and continue covering the other 3 corners in the same manner. Trim the ribbon and glue the ribboned invitation to the center front of the book. Back to top This
one is very simple and wedding guests will appreciate the elegance and
organized method of keeping up with wedding
ceremony programs. Simply cut
pieces of organza ribbon and tie a cute bow around rolled programs.
This idea does not use ribbon, but it can make a stunning and unforgettable exit for the wedding couple. Have wedding guests light sparklers as you exit your wedding or reception area. Here's a website with ideas on this subject. Skylighter Be sure your photographer has a special camera lens to capture the haloed affect of the lights. This may be one of your favorite photos of the entire wedding If sparklers aren't your thing, do bubbles. Little bottles of bubbles are a wonderful way to greet the new bride & groom as they leave the building. Back to top
Create name tags using ready made ones from an office supply store. Calligraphy guest's name & table number on the tag. Place one punched hole in one center/top of the tag. Fill glassine bags with Jordan almonds, fold the open edge over about 1/2 inch, hole punch the fold center/top, run organza ribbon through the hole on the name tag and then through the hole in the bag. Tie ribbon in a bow and place name tag/goodie bags on a table near reception area entrance. Voila! Guests have name tags, goodies, and their table designation without (often) the mass confusion of looking for their names on each table. Guests will remove the goodies before attaching the name tag. At your ceremonial location and using wide organza, or any stiff ribbon, create huge multi-loop bows either for each aisle pew or for the pews for family members only. Make a large loop for each bow to drape over pews, or check with church officials for the proper way to attach bows to pews. Using a strand of wide ribbon, close the pews for family members, opening only when family is seated. Back to top
With leftover wedding gown fabric cut 2 - 6" squares, stitch around the pillow with right sides together leaving one side open for 3 inches. Turn the pillow inside out and stuff with dried rose petals (or potpourri). Using organza ribbon long enough to seal the 3 inch opening and extending long enough to tie the rings, embroidery stitch the 3 inch opening closed. Use the remaining extended ribbon at the ceremony to secure the rings. This makes a great keepsake. Back to top
